Mozilla Thunderbird 0.9 is a major release of the standalone e-mail and newsgroup client and offers a number of new features, including Saved Search Folders, which display messages based upon previously specified search criteria; the capability to group messages by attributes within a folder; global inbox support improvements, improved privacy controls and offline support, and other changes.
Mozilla Firefox 1.0 Release Candidate 2, meanwhile, is a browser release implementing developments in features such as site authentication, extension installation, software update, theme performance on Mac OS X, and bug fixes. Like the first release candidate, this is a testing release that foreshadows the final release of Mozilla Firefox 1.0 later this month.
