Opera 12.12, with critical flaw fix.

by Antony

OperaOpera Software released Opera 12.12 for Mac, Windows and Linux. This version addresses one critical flaw and a low severity issue. As usual, this update also provides general improvements and stability enhancements. Opera users are recommended to updated to this version.

The critical issue is related to arbitrary code execution, where specifically crafted GIF image files can cause Opera to allocate the wrong amount of memory. The low severity bug that would allow Opera’s browser address field to display an incorrect address for the page that is currently being displayed. A third issue affecting UNIX-only was fixed as well, where private data could be disclosed to other computers, or be modified by them.
