Mozilla Foundation Announces Security Bug Bounty Program

by Andrew T.

On August 2, 2004, the Mozilla Foundation announced the Mozilla Security Bug Bounty Program, whereby users who identify and report critical security bugs in Mozilla-sponsored software are rewarded with cash prizes. A full press release is available. This is similar to a cash-reward initiative created by Mozilla's forerunner Netscape Communications when developing beta releases of Netscape Navigator 2.0 years ago.
