What's new in Firefox 2.0.0.3
- Release Date: March 20, 2007
- Security Update: The following security issues have been fixed.
- Website Compatibility: Fixed various web compatibility regressions.
Firefox 2.0.0.3 fixes only one minor security vulnerability, which is the FTP protocol includes the PASV (passive) command. The specification of the FTP protocol allows the server response to include an alternate server address as well, although this is rarely used in practice. Mozilla clients will now ignore the alternate server address.
Firefox 2.0.0.3 can be downloaded from this page.
The Firefox 1.5.0.x will be maintained by the Mozilla Corporation until 24th April 2007. Firefox 1.5.0.11 could be the last update of Firefox 1.5.0.x branch.
Antony of SillyDog701 noted that Firefox forces users to update to latest versions by default. Such setting was the default setting in preferences, and not every Firefox user checks through every single settings nor have the confidence on changing the default setting. If you do not wish such self-updating (without informing users beforehand) to happy, you should change the default setting. For more detail, please see this discussion.
