by Antony

EudoraQualcomm announced today that Eudora will become open source and free from first quarter in 2007. The new version will be based on the same platform as Mozilla Thunderbird. Qualcomm also released the final commercial versions of Eudora for both Windows (v7.1) and Mac (v6.2.4), available at a reduced price of US$19.95.

QUALCOMM and Mozilla will each participate in, and continue to foster development communities based around the open source Mozilla project, with a view to enhancing the capabilities and ease of use of both Eudora and Thunderbird.
