50 million copies of Mozilla Firefox Downloaded

50 million copies of Mozilla's popular, competitive, and technologically sophisticated Firefox browser have been downloaded from Mozilla.org's servers since version 1.0 was released on November 9, 2004.

To celebrate, a special prize will be given to the "Spread Firefox" affiliate who referred this 50 millionth download.

A page, titled "Firefox: Blazing a Trail to 50,000,000," has been set up devoted to this occasion. It contains a real-time download counter, miscellaneous information, and several interesting articles related to surprising means of Firefox promotion.
